Ohia House is the perfect home base for your Big Island vacation. We are a B&B licensed and permitted by the state of Hawaii and centrally located between Hilo and Volcanoes National Park. Situated in the Puna district in tropical Leilani Estates, we are just minutes from the quaint village of Pahoa, where you will find numerous restaurants and shops.

We're also just a short drive from the beautiful Kalapana "new" black sand beach, a result of the Kilauea lava flow. From there you can follow Highway 137 (red road) to the turquoise blue waters of Kehena Beach. Watch closely, and you'll spot numerous dolphins, sea turtles, or even whales during Hawaii's winter months. Continue on 137 through tropical rainforest to MacKenzie State Recreation Area, Issac Hale Beach Park, where you can swim, watch our local surfers, or join them, & catch the lava boat to view the current flow into the ocean yourself! Quite an amazing experience. Grab a snack from the local snack trucks, then continue on to Ahalanui Warm Springs for a therapeutic dip, or enjoy unsurpassed snorkeling at Kapoho Tide Pools.
